Today, my family and I visited the Jackalope Indie Artisan Fair in Pasadena to buy some local art and support my good friend Lily Yllescas. I originally met Lily though Pasadena Audubon Society, and we are both part of the non-profit organizations Los Angeles Birders and Los Angeles Birders-Students.
Lily is a phenomenal artist and photographer. Her Etsy shop, Art Created by Lily, features her wonderful art work. Lily uses art as a way of expressing her joy for wildlife, as well as using it to spread awareness for the natural world. I had the opportunity of purchasing some of these works at Jackalope, and I am so excited to put them up on the wall!
In addition, Lily is also part of Western Field Ornithologists, another organization dedicated to the study of birds, volunteers at the Aquarium of the Pacific, and is a certified scuba diver! Thank you Lily for all the incredible work you do!
